How To Apply

Application Procedures

Applicants should use a separate application form for each course to which they are applying and should attach one photograph to the space provided on the form.

Applicants applying on-line should also make separate applications for each course.

All applicants applying by the closing date will be interviewed.

Applicants applying after that date will be interviewed if places are still available.

Application Forms

Application Forms are available from the College Office, and can also be downloaded as PDF files from our website, or alternatively applications can be submitted electronically on the website.

Fees

There are no fees for PLC courses, however you will probably be asked to pay for registration charges by certifying bodies, student services, books, and equipment where the item purchased becomes your personal property. A list of such resource fees is available from the General Office, telephone: 01 6269421.

A deposit of £40 will be required to secure a place on a course. This will not be refunded if you do not avail of the course. If you do enrol on the course, the amount will be held as a down payment against the charges outlined above.

The charges for certification/registration with certifying bodies may vary, depending on the certification authority involved. A modest charge (present fee £32 for a full award of 8 modules) will apply for certification from FETAC.

Students may be eligible for Grants if they meet the eligibility criteria. Grants available include:

International Applicants Fees

Extract from Department of Education leaflet on PLC courses:

No fees will be charged for PLC courses. However, in line with provision in the third level sector, the cost of items shown below will continue to be borne by students: Books, uniforms/clothing and equipment … where the items purchased become the personal property of the trainee, Student Services, Registration charges by professional bodies, Examination fees. Students have always had to pay examination and registration charges. For example, at second level students pay an examination fee for sitting the Junior and Leaving Cert examinations, and buy their own books.
