15/9/10: A new advisory board for the Irish School of Animation has
been established. The members of the advisory board for animation
include: Tomm Moore (co-founder and creative director, Cartoon Saloon), Professor Greg Maguire (co-founder,
Zoogloo LLC) and Professor of Visual
Communications, University of Ulster,
Eileen Bell (Digital Media Development Advisor, Animation
Ireland/Enterprise Ireland), Emma
Scott (production executive, Irish Film Board), Dr Aphra Kerr (Content Manager, Game
Developers Ireland) and Sociology
Lecturer, NUI Maynooth and Andrew Kavanagh (CEO
and Founder, Kavaleer Productions).
15/9/10: BA Animation film ‘Cookie Love' (directed by Stephen Byrne)
will be screened at the upcoming New York City International
Children's Film Festival (http://www.gkids.com).
15/9/10: BA Animation film ‘Olinda' (directed by Bruno Palma) has won
the Animation Category in the Digital Hub Best in Show competition
2010.
15/9/10: Congratulations to BA Animation student Kevin Ryan, who is a
member of the Irish team ‘Nevermind Games' who made the final of
this year's Dare to be Digital competition last August with their game WiiKick
(http://www.daretobedigital. com).
15/9/10: The following BA Animation films was screened last July at the Galway Film Fleadh (http://www.galwayfilmfleadh. com): The
Artists, Olinda, Cookie Love, The Thin Pink Line, Photocopy, Laurie
and the Litterbugs, and The Old Guys.

26/3/10: Congratulations to all of the animation students who worked on films

26/3/10: Jam Media (founded by BCFE animation graduates John Rice, Alan Shannon
ansd Mark Cumberton) have won a Royal Television Society Award for
their show ‘Roy' in the Children's Drama category. Details here
8/3/2010: Oscar Winner!
Irish School of Animation graduate Richie Baneham last night picked up an Oscar in the category of Visual Effects at the 82nd Academy Awards for his work on the groundbreaking film Avatar. Congrats to Richie.
1/3/10: On Wednesday 24th February four ISA graduates and animation
Oscar nominees (Richie Baneham of Weta Digital, Tomm Moore of Cartoon
Saloon, Darragh O'Connell of Brown Bag Films and Nicky Phelan of Brown
Bag Films) visited Ballyfermot College. They were joined on the night
by another ISA graduate and IFTA nominee Andrew Kavanagh (Founder/CEO
Kavaleer Productions). It was a great occasion, attended by an
